Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree from Dunwoody College of Technology, students must meet all of the following graduation requirements:
- Complete all courses listed under the degree requirements on the academic plan that the student was assigned,
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in coursework applied to their academic plan, and

Preparing for Graduation: Your Last Semester
Dunwoody students do not apply for graduation. Their graduation date is maintained by their academic advisor, and students will be informed of their expected graduation date during academic advising sessions.
After Add/Drop week, the Registrar’s Office will email students to confirm they're on track to graduate providing they pass their current courses. After the Withdraw deadline, students receive a certified email confirming that, once classes are successfully completed, they will officially become a Dunwoody alum.
Next, stduents will receive an email with instructions to help them prepare for graduation. This email includes requests for and information about:
- Postgraduate employment
- RSVP for commencement and other graduation activities
- Ordering regalia (cap and gown)
- Latin Honors cords
- PTK stole
Commencement Ceremony
Dunwoody's annual Commencement Ceremony occurs close to the end or directly after Spring Semester. The ceremony celebrates the previous Fall graduates and current Spring and upcoming Summer candidates for graduation.
Information regarding Dunwoody's annual commencement ceremony is posted on the Commencement webpage.
Graduate participation in commencement is encouraged, but not required. Participating in Commencement is not an indication of official graduate status.
Dunwoody also celebrates graduates at its Graduate Reception, where students may invite family and friends to campus. Typically, the reception is held the evening before Commencement.
Diplomas and Transcripts
Degrees are processed approximately four to six weeks following the end of the term. Diplomas are mailed to graduates who have fulfilled all financial obligations and returned all college property (laptops, library materials, etc.). Official transcripts can be requested on the Registrar's Office website.
