Change of Program
Dunwoody College is committed to ensuring that all students are making informed decisions regarding their academic interests and their professional goals and objectives. If, in the course of your undergraduate study, you decide to change your program, there are a number of important things to keep in mind. Here are some things you can do and ask when considering changing your program or degree level:
- Consult with your current faculty advisor: Inform them of your intent to change your program or degree level. They will guide you through the next steps.
- Meet with a faculty advisor from the new program: Discuss any new degree requirements and how your completed courses may or may not apply to the new program.
- Speak with the Financial Aid Office: Understand how the change may impact your financial aid or veteran benefits.
- Coordinate with the Registrar's Office: Clarify the status of your transfer credits and/or prior learning credits, and how the change may affect your graduation timeline.
- Complete the Change of Curriculum form: After gathering all necessary information, work with your faculty advisor to submit the Change of Curriculum form to the Registrar’s Office.
Program or degree changes submitted before the add/drop deadline take effect in the current semester. Requests after the deadline are processed at semester’s end, with the change applying in the following semester. If that semester starts a new academic year, the student matriculates into the new year's program. For programs with shared curricula, students remain in the original catalog year.
